Chiefs’ Peters refuses to take Keenan Allen’s bait

When your team appears set to make a deep postseason run, you can afford to take the high road when called out by a divisional opponent.

That's the approach Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters took when asked about San Diego Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen's recent comments about him.

Allen - who tore his ACL in Week 1 - recently called Peters a "bum" and suggested the cornerback was happy he wouldn't be lining up against him during Sunday's game.

Peters refused to fire back.

"It don't even matter - tell him to get healthy, man," Peters said, according to The Kansas City Star's Terez A. Paylor. "We're praying for a speedy recovery, man. We need him back on the field. The fans are missing him."

Asked if he's missing Allen, Peters said he's focused on helping the Chiefs make some noise in January.

"No, I ain't even worried about it,” Peters said. "I'm worried about the Chiefs getting to the Super Bowl."
