Goff was selected first overall by the Rams but struggled miserably during his debut season, while Prescott, taken in the fourth round, earned Pro Bowl and Offensive Rookie of the Year honors while starring for the Cowboys.
The Rams QB has since shown immense improvement, and Prescott has taken notice.
"You get picked No. 1 for a reason," he said of Goff to Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News. "I watched him in the Thursday night game last week. He's slinging the ball. He's got some weapons, and he's doing a great job this year."
Goff returned the favor, remarking on Prescott's spectacular ascent after emerging as a star when Tony Romo suffered an injury during the 2016 preseason.
"To be honest with you, I was happy for him," Goff said. "Very happy for him. I know his background, that he was a fourth-round pick or whatever, and he was an underdog. His ability to go out there and do what he did last year, I was very happy for him, mainly because of the type of guy he is."
Sunday's game will also feature two of the NFL's young premier running backs in Cowboys All-Pro Ezekiel Elliott and Rams standout Todd Gurley. Mark this one as an indicator of the league's future.
