Rams HC McVay optimistic about Donald’s return before season

Aaron Donald is still embroiled in a contract dispute with the regular season rapidly approaching, but Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay doesn't appear too concerned.

Donald is the NFL's premier defensive tackle and wants a new contract that's befitting of his three consecutive Pro Bowl selections.

Although their season opener versus the Indianapolis Colts looms large on Sept. 10, McVay believes both parties are likely to reach a resolution ahead of time.

"I would say I feel optimistic about it," McVay said several times via Rich Hammond of the Orange County Register.

This is a stark contrast from the opinion given by Rams general manager Les Snead on Tuesday, who opined that it would be unlikely for Donald to play in the season opener.

Donald is the Rams' most valuable player by a wide margin and Rams fans everywhere have to be hoping McVay proves to be correct.
