“I've seen a couple of things about it," the star cornerback said Friday, according to Ryan Hannable of WEEI.com. "I know for a minute they were trying to gas me up. They were trying to gas us up a little bit. You can't really gas somebody up who is already gassed. I mean, that is what I do. That didn't really matter to me."
While the Patriots, in characteristic fashion, have avoided providing any soundbites ahead of Sunday's game, the outspoken Ramsey hasn't shied away from announcing his confidence to the world. The second-year defensive back guaranteed the Jaguars would win the Super Bowl after last week's divisional-round victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
But to win the big one, the underdog Jaguars will first have to find a way to get past the Patriots - and that means stopping star tight end Rob Gronkowski.
The Jaguars' defensive coordinator Todd Wash said Thursday that Ramsey won't be deployed against the future Hall of Famer, but the corner hinted that might not be the case.
"He hasn't played a corner like me before," said Ramsey, according to Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com.
